Airports: Baltimore Washington International (BWI) is the closest airport to downtown Baltimore. Other options (which are much farther away) are the two Washington, D.C. airports – Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Reagan National Airport (DCA). BWI is approximately 30 minutes by cab from downtown Baltimore.
For overseas' guests, IAD is probably the best option for international flights. It is approximately one hour 15 minutes from IAD to downtown Baltimore by car. Train: Our favorite option, especially if you are traveling from New York, is by train. The train station in Baltimore is Penn Station (approximately 1.5 miles from our recommended hotel) and tickets may be booked via www.amtrak.com.
We spend a lot of time at Penn Station so we would be remiss if we failed to mention that it was designed by a New York architect and constructed in 1911 in the Beaux-Arts style. The skylights in the main atrium are just beautiful. In stark contrast in terms of style, Jonathan Borofsky's 51-foot aluminum sculpture entitled Male/Female is the centerpiece of the plaza in front of Penn Station.
By Car: There is good parking near or at all of the wedding events.
By Taxi: The two best lines are:
Yellow Cab - 410.774.0341
Baltimore City Taxi - 410.327.7777
By Uber: For those of you with this smartphone app, Baltimore has a high density of on-call Uber cars.
